“Welcome into this broken vessel.”
These were words sung by a gospel choir Emily (our daughter) took part in this past week at St Olaf’s Music Camp. Friday afternoon Rich and I dipped south to Northfield and took in one of her two camp finale concerts this weekend. I’m so grateful the mission team returned in time for me to see this performance. Tears kept streaming as they sung…I was ministered to…
One of the songs they sang is entitled “Welcome” and the program has it listed as written by Richard Smallwood. I leave you with the words and accompanying youtube video below (unfortunately a video of her choir singing it is not available–they were so amazing, though, wish I could share it with you…)
Welcome into this place,
Welcome into this broken vessel.
You desire to abide
in the praises of Your people;
so we lift our hands
and we lift our hearts,
as we offer up this praise unto Your name.
Creation declares Your glory
and the universe declares Your majesty;
yet You choose to abide
in the praises of Your people,
so we offer up this praise unto Your name.
